Brytan offers State-of-the-Art Fiber Optic Network
Brytan, Gainesville’s newest, award-winning, mixed use, traditional neighborhood development, announced they are providing its residents and businesses with the most advanced fiber optic network in the area. The network, called Brytlink, will allow every home and business owner a broadband connection fast enough to take advantage of the technology available now and into the future.

Brytan partnered with Gainesville Regional Utilities (GRU) to build Brytlink. GRU Com, the communications division of Gainsville Regional Utilities, manages the largest fiber optic network in the Gainesville, Florida area and provides fiber optic service to local hospitals, apartments, local government and the University of Florida. “GRU is excited about this opportunity to provide fiber optic services to Brytan. Brytlink will open up many opportunities for residents and businesses to take advantage of the latest in technology. Brytan residents will be ready for the future.” said Tammy Snyder of GRU Com.

The most bandwidth available today without a fiber optic network is generally about 6 megabits per second. Brytlink will offer bandwidths up to 10 gigabits per second or 1,600 times faster. And the speed is asynchronous, meaning the customer has the same bandwidth available for uploads as for downloads.

“Brytlink is an important part of making Brytan a sustainable community,” said David Miller of Brice Business Group, the founder and developer of Brytan. “Homes should be built to take advantage of current technologies and also to anticipate future technologies that can be incorporated when available.” The structured wire network built into each Brytan home and business can operate a sophisticated home security and monitoring system that can be managed and changed from anywhere you have an internet connection.

Fiber internet service will be provided to every resident as part of the basic services of the Brytan Association. An intranet is also under development to help Brytan residents keep up with community events and news. Businesses located in the Brytan Town Center will be able to publish daily specials and sales to residents.

Brytan is a mixed-use traditional neighborhood development located in Gainesville, Florida. Brytan is one of only six developments in the state of Florida that has been accepted into the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Neighborhood Development (LEED-ND) pilot project program developed by the US Green Building Coalition.

The Brytan Sales Center is located at 5995 SW 75th Street and is open from 10am to 5pm on weekdays and 1-5pm on weekends. For information go to Brytan.com or call (352) 379-5777.
